AI and Human Collaboration Dismantles Horrible $1 Million Scam

The world of technology has been completely upended by the revelation of an audio fraud scheme. The plan, which is currently referred to as the "FM Scam," is the second significant fraud that targets audio spending. The seemingly invincible alliance between AI and humans allowed for the discovery and subsequent repair of this racket.  The FM Scam significantly hurt the audio spending industry, affecting about $1 million worth of spending per month at its height in March 2024.

DoubleVerify ("DV") discovered and stopped the fraudulent activity that is currently known as the FM Scam on May 7, 2024.  Essentially, the FM Scam's perpetrators used specialized servers to fabricate audio traffic data. They mimicked a wide range of gadgets commonly used for playing audio. This made it easier for the FM Scammers to hide from anti-fraud organizations by blending their faked traffic with real data. The scam impersonated up to 500K devices at its busiest.

The combination of AI and humans is revolutionary in the field of technology. This combination is very powerful, much to how DoubleVerify's Fraud Lab exposed the FM Scam.  In order to reduce the risks posed by fraudsters, AI and humans must be trained to collaborate going ahead. It is safe to argue that technological improvements are making the world a more confusing place. Thus, effective human-AI cooperation needs to serve as the front line in the fight against fraud.  AI's future appears uncertain right now. The world will probably profit, nevertheless, if humans and AI collaborate more morally.
